Came across your article as I am learning to drive now..as an adult of…46! I’m from NYC and has awesome transit where a car was discouraged and now live in Miami where public transportation is fine for daily life and everyone drives crazy. So it’s the best time for me to give it a go! I have to be able to pick up my son from school so have to force myself and yes I do want to learn but I see all the risks now that I am so..ahem..mature 😉 I’ll keep at it..it’s been 2 weeks. It’s so hard to learn as an adult because you’re so aware of what can go wrong. Also, I notice everyone driving like maniacs so it freaks me out. But, there is just a point where you have to make it happen and I’m sick of depending on other people for a ride. I want to share the responsibility. Glad we’re in this together.
