It’s been almost 2 years since I finished my year long No Shopping Challenge. For those of you new to this blog, I stopped shopping from April 1, 2014 until April 1,2015. Seriously. When you do a challenge like that one the hardest part is getting into the rhythm of doing whatever you can to meet the challenge head on and complete it. It’s a matter of pride. I’ve rebooted my debt freedom journey and I’ve got my game face on.
You know what I mean. That stoic focused look that you see on the face of an Olympian who has put in thousands of hours of training and can see the end in sight. I used to be so frustrated with myself until I realized that I’ve put in the time and mental work to finally believe that I can I can get it done.
I’ve Got My Game Face On
Because I have no f$cks left to give. I don’t care about fancy cars, living in a big home, or proving anything to anyone else. I don’t care if you think that people in debt shouldn’t travel, do fun activities, or enjoy good, organic good organic food.
Fear will motivate you.
Reboots Are a Good Thing
You bring the lessons from your failures and your successes. I tried a number of things that worked and that didn’t work.
- Not monetizing my site earlier-I don’t want to think about the potential earnings that I may have lost out on. It doesn’t matter-I’m monetizing now.
- Not sticking with my podcast(s). Again, I could have grown my podcasts and monetized them too.
- Not focusing on paying off debt.
- Not working hard enough.
I’m not trying to beat myself up. I’m just being honest. I’m looking forward to rebooting my podcast(s), trying some new things, and sharing what I’ve learned along the way. I also will be sharing some different content in addition to what I normally share. It’s time to get this done.

You got this, Michelle! I’ve had similar thoughts when I’ve come to my blog, but the truth is we’re exactly where we need to be. You’re got an amazing attitude, and that will only continue to bring success your way!

Thanks Kate! I struggled with how to ethically monetize my site. I’ve made some decisions re: this fall/work load, etc it’s on!

Sounds like you’re getting in the zone! I love when I get a rush of big time focus on a particular area of my life. If I can help in any way, let me know!

I beat myself up too over things I should have done or when I fall off the wagon. It happens, even if it’s a project I get really excited about. Good luck, I’m excited to see your journey against debt progress. 🙂

I’m my own worst critic. I’m feeling pretty focused and some other things have come up that have really created a profound shift in my mindset. The mindset shift has been huge.

We all have to reboot every once in a while. The good thing is that you found out what needed to be done. Now you’re ready to rock this debt.

I’ve postponed a trip that I planned on taking in October/November as well. I’m just in beast mode.

I think I gotta congratulate you for that challenge you were successful at. That must have taken you a great challenge and lots of temptations such as buying clothes you really liked. Honestly, I think I wouldn’t be successful, it I were to take that kind of challenge, Michelle. CONGRATS!
