I’ve always gotten a lot of free stuff. In fact, I’ve gotten so many goods and services for free that other people have commented on it. In fact, the day that I’m writing this post I took an epic exercise class that kicked my butt…and that I can attend for the entire summer for free. In fact, I’ve received thousands of items and services in several different ways and I wanted to make sure that you knew what they were so that you could capitalize on them too.
Things I’ve Received For Free
Before I get a little further into the post I thought I would share a couple of examples of free goods and services that I’ve received:
- Bikes-I’ve been given three including my current bike a Simple Cruiser
- A Snowboard-Yep, I got my snowboard for free.
- Co-Working Space-I now belong to 2 on is free the other is super inexpensive.
- Clothing
- Spanish Classes (college level)
- Exercise classes
- Dance classes
- And a ton of food
This is not a complete list of items or services that I’ve received for free and after I looked at the total monetary value of these free items throughout the year I thought that this is something that I need to share with my Shop My Closet Project readers.
Some of it was luck, being in the right place at the right time, and strategy. I want to help you position yourself so that you can have access to more goods and services without worrying about:
- Going into debt
- Not being able to do fun things because of income or prior financial obligations
- Wanting to put your cash in investments
- Needing to help family
The list goes on. When I was making $9 an hour (including tips) at Starbucks while supporting my mom during a period of unemployment was demoralizing I just didn’t have the money to do a lot of the things that I wanted to do…and even though I made a lot of money mistakes I do the following right: I positioned myself to find resources and services so that I could continue to enjoy life, have fun, and not get any broker than I already was due to my money stresses and lack of financial know how.

Got to love free stuff! I tend to get some free stuff – mostly travel, but occasionally household goods as the result of being a blogger. It’s a nice perk!
