I’ve detailed in the past couple of weeks that I’ve rebooted my debt freedom journey. It is a humbling thing to admit that I’ve stumbled on my journey. But, what personal journey moves in a straight line? None that I’m aware of.
If you read my other posts you’re aware that I have a specific approach to YOLO. No, I won’t be spending like a crazy, but yes, I will be traveling and continuing to live my life. I practice mindful substitutions of goods and services and I love FREE!! I’m telling you this now so that you don’t throw shade at me when I travel. But, if you feel like paying my bills-that will change my response to any shade that comes my way LOL!
But, I’m realistic. There are some huge things that I need to do to move the debt needle. And, I’m comfortable with that. But, my income picture is a little different now because I’m now earning a variable income.
$10,000
One of my favorite posts to read besides the epic affiliate income posts are the monthly earnings posts. It gives me goosebumps to read that people hit milestones making thousands of dollars more than what they made in previous jobs or side hustling on top of their 9-5. I personally don’t care how they get to their epic number-I just love that people are killing it.
In order to move the needle I need to make more money and that’s just a fact. Let’s also be honest and address the fact that I’ve also added the extra layer of variable income to the mix. What was I thinking? Well, at the time I was thinking that I needed to see what I could do. I took a calculated risk and in many respects it has paid off.
Now, I’m in the process of making some very substantive shifts to what I’m doing and one of the biggest goals I would like to achieve is to make $10,000-every month. For realz. I think it’s important to talk about the range of income that I’ve made in the past year and a half. I’ve had months where I’ve made as little as $1850 to as much as $6500. It hasn’t been consistent for many reasons…but I will outline a few of those reasons below:
- Not having clear earnings goals
- Lack of discipline
- Not working a strategy
I’m tired of mediocre results so hear are some of the systemic changes to my process in order to keep my income consistent and grow my income over time. I should mention that while I want to earn a lot of money I have no desire to work myself to death or not prioritize my health and wellness.
Listed below are the changes that I’m making to my current “money making strategy.”
- I doubled my monthly earnings goal and as a consequence of that I also doubled my daily earnings average. By doubling my goal I have to work harder.
- I’m very focused on growing my affiliate income. It is my hope that in the next year I can create an ongoing stream of passive income. In fact, passive income is my #1 focus.
- Growing my coaching business. I’m doing Strategy and Logistics coaching for people transitioning from their 9-5 to online entrepreneurship.
- Continue side hustling because-why not?!
- Say yes and take more risks. I am saying yes to opportunities to make money that I normally would have shied away from because of Imposter Syndrome. No longer!
The more I have going on the more I seem to achieve. My basic issue with the past year and a half is that I just wasn’t busy enough and wasn’t clear on what I was trying to do I just knew that I had to leave my job. But I failed to ask myself “then what?”
I’ve asked myself and I’m excited about the answer. I’m looking forward to rocking this debt out, proving that I can do something epic that frightens me, and growing intellectually. It’s a constant balancing act but I’m up for it…and so are you!

I love this, Michelle! And I have no doubt you’ll meet your $10,000 per month goal. I’ve been stepping up my affiliate income, too. I was so hesitant to monetize Cashville Skyline for so long. I don’t know what I was thinking! Hahaha.

There are no free rides in my household. The blog has to pay for itself from now on. I was super hesitant to monetize as well because I couldn’t figure out how to monetize in a way that was consistent with my messaging. I’ve figured it out and it’s time make some money.

Good luck Michelle! 10k is a good goal to have. I find the bloggers who are there or close to that amount seemed to have sacrificed their health or free time, so hopefully that won’t be the case for you!

I am very health focused so that’s not something I’m worried about. Since I used to work 70 hour weeks I’m looking to work smarter vs. harder. I also schedule health and wellness as that is one of my top 3 priorities and part of why I quit. I don’t think that growing income will automatically equal bad health. BUT, I think you have to be so freaking mindful. It helps that I like to go hiking, do yoga, and bike ride. I’m pretty unwilling to let that lifestyle go. I’m also really over the debt and if that means that I get busier-that’s ok. I was pretty chill for the past year-it’s time to get to work. Will keep you posted 🙂

Nice round number 😀 Loving your attitude and have no doubt you’ll hit it.
Starting to think more about passive income and monetising… look forward to seeing what you do in that area.

Thanks! I am VERY bullish on passive income. I’m taking several steps to make it happen. Will keep you posted.
