I’ve mentioned before that I’m feeling a bit frustrated with my current job situation. Let me be very clear-I work with great people, it is a great position, and I get to do fun things. There are two issues: I’ve worked the job too long (9 years) and there are no opportunities for advancement in my specific department. Which make the following sentence hard to write…I got to go to Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) and go Horseback Riding with an amazing group of clients yesterday! For work…HEHE.
If you haven’t had the chance to visit RMNP I highly recommend that you visit it the next time you’re in Colorado. I visit the park several times a year and it never fails to amaze and move me with its constantly changing beauty. Today it rained, then snowed while we up there. ย We were over 12,000 feet and got to check out Elk, pica, and chipmunks.
Then we hung out for awhile at the Trail Ridge Road Visitor Center where I had the opportunity to climb what I’ve named the “Stairway to Heaven.” Then we went to the town of Estes Park where I enjoyed some Nepalese food then I went to Starbucks and wrote some blog posts (really).
Finally the weather gods smiled on us and the sky cleared up for our horseback trail ride and steak dinner. It was an absolutely incredible day and that’s why I live in Colorado.
The snake like thing is a river ๐
On the road…
The rain comes
On top of the world!
Stairway to heaven
Am cold! At the top of the stairway.
Dusting of snow-during that hour!
Driving home
Boulder on the horizon

Great pics! You’re making me want to come visit even more! But if I lived there what would I call my blog? Budget and the Rocky Mountains? ๐ I think it’s OK to be thinking ahead about what you might want out of life and your job, but it’s also good you took a step back to appreciate what you DO have. I have to do that with my video editing work ALL the time because otherwise I’d be miserable.

Sounds fun! There is a super cheap flight from PDX to Denver right now….but I can’t. Colorado looks beautiful. Enjoy your job or now and keep on looking for something new.

Colorado is awesome. This is year is weird because we are getting crazy amounts of rain. Happily, we aren’t dealing with wildfires. I hadn’t realized how stressful the fires were until they were gone. We’ve had a severe drought for the past 5 years=really bad fires EVERY year. Loving the rain.
